General
Mary Ellen Durham 1973, Bluies Creek, professor emerita of education at Campbell University, has received the NC Science Teachers Association's highest honor, the Vi Hunsuker Award. A peer-nominated award, it goes to the most outstanding science educator in North Carolina and recognizes outstanding lifetime achievement in science education.
Kay Vass Darling 1980, Richmond, VA, is the Acquisitions and Public Services Librarian at the Virginia Union University.
Jarvis M. James 2001, Lillington, as an USPTA Elite Professional Jay James owns and operates Jay's Sales & Tennis Services in the Harnett County area in North Carolina and is available for private and group lessons, junior and adult clinics, racquet stringing, as well as all tennis equipment needs.  Previous places of employment include Highland Country Club, Dark Branch Racquet & Swim Club, Walnut Creek Country Club, and Greensboro College. Jay is married to his wife of 11 years, Amber Cook James, and has three children, Brayden (7), Makayla (5), and Dalton (3). Jay earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Greensboro College.
Francois Theriault 2008, St-Etienne-de-Lauz, QC, is CEO of Sumesur which he runs with with his brother, Vincent. They outsource tailoring to Asia, thanks to 3D technology. See more at: Article
Stefanie N. Geiss 2012, Knightdale, is in in her Pride Gear, while she and her horse Sully that she purchased on the 1-year anniversary of her college graduation are seen here. They are competing locally in the hunter jumper competitions and hope to start participating in some of the larger shows this year.
Cory L. Brosnick 2013, Lillington, has joined Lincoln Financial Group as a Customer Care Associate.
Jacob E. Anflick 2013, Greensboro, is a fourth-generation drummer. He was taught by one of the best from South Philly who began playing drums at age 4. That was Sammy, his grandfather. Everybody knew Sammy. He came to Greensboro in 1963 and later helped a generation of musicians get started. For 12 years, until 1983, he ran a place no bigger than a double-wide in a space now occupied by the Tap Room on Battleground Avenue. He called it Sammy's. Locals still talk about it. It was Greensboro's hub for the many spokes of music -  jazz, blues, bluegrass, you name it. That included a four-piece house band in which Sammy played drums and waved to everybody who came in. Jacob ended up playing with the Guilford College Jazz Combo, enrolled in Greensboro College and ended up playing with its jazz ensemble as well as musicians who had played with his father and his grandfather. Jacob graduated with a music degree 2013. After four generations of Anflicks who played drums, Jacob became the first to graduate from college. His dream? To open Sammy's again. He'd love to do that. Sarah Ann Miles Tate 1966, Warrenton, died peacefully on the morning of January 29, 2014 at Wesley Long Hospital after a several month illness. On-line condolences may be offered at www.forbisanddick.com.

Marriage
Regina Hayes Alexander 2002 and Amber McKinnon Alexander 2002, Greensboro,  were legally maried in Maryland on November 1, 2013. Their 4 year old daugher, Emery, was present for the ceremony. Following their return to NC, they had a reception/celebration of the marriage at their home church in Greensboro. In attendance at the reception were Ellen Houck Bradley '03, Brian Gano '02, Phil Bocci '02 Melissa Cochrane Bocci '03 and W. Barnes Tatum, religion professor.
