Julee Marshall, secretary of Odell Building at Greensboro College, shares an event that her mom, a Master Sergeant and World War II Veteran, was involved in on May 18, 2011:

"This morning another Triad "Flight of Honor" carrying about 75 World War II
Veterans left from GSO on its way to Washington DC. Among them were my mom, Reva Fortune (The Master Sergeant) and my Aunt Lucy Pauquette (Corporal). Channel 12 WXII interviewed them both since Mom is the oldest veteran on the flight (age 94) and Aunt Lucy is the only female Marine on the flight. It was an amazing
event as they were with greeted flags, motorcycle patriots, a vintage jeep and
special military escorts. A singing group dressed in period uniforms sang songs
from the 1940's. As the plane taxied onto the runway, the airport fire trucks
sprayed an arch of water for it to pass under. I understand that the arrival in
Washington is also quite special, as will be the return this evening."
