General Announcements
John "Freddy" Johnson, 1977, Greensboro Day School boys basketball Coach, named High School Boys Coach of the Year. He guided the Bengals to 31-4 overall record, 6-2 PACIS mark (second place), NCISAA Class 3-A state championship game appearance, record-tying 10th Pizza Hut Invitational title. He holds an overall record of 833-262 in 35 seasons at GDS and is the winningest coach in NC high school boys basketball history (claimed record- breaking 819th victory at Charlotte Providence Day on Jan. 7). He has guided GDS to 7 state championships and 21 conference titles. |
