General

Brenda Howell Edmond '63, Winston-Salem, has 2 grandchildren and has retired from Hewlett Packard. She is now doing contract work.

Nancy Reynolds Routh '67, Pleasant Garden, was re-elected as an At-Large member of the Guilford County Board of Education on November 4, 2014. Article

Jeanne Wright Canady '71, Parkton, retired on January 3, 2014 from work as a medical social worker at Glenflora.

Amy Alley Bynum '80, Midlothian, VA, is currently teaching piano at the Salisbury Presbyterian Music Academy in Midlothian, Virginia.  Recently, she performed at a fund-raiser for the academy, where she put in a good word for GC! Michele and her husband, Bill, are avid "Sherlockians" and the proud parents
of a son, Will, who recently graduated from Radford University.

John A. Williamson '83, Corona del Mar, CA, is the owner & Executive Director of a fleet of companies based in Orange County, California.


Here, he is greeted by the US Ambassador to Kuwait, Douglas Silliman, at an annual education forum in Kuwait City.  The US Embassy is one of the key sponsors of Mr. Williamson's twenty-five member delegation from some of the world's most highly prized and selective education institutions.

Williamson is the founder of numerous education advising companies such as Arlen Global Advisors and Premier Boarding Schools of the World.  He advises some of the most influential families on the globe, helping place their children into prestigious Boarding Schools and universities.  Williamson's clients include the President of Mexico; the Defense Minister of Kazakhstan; famed architect Zaha Hadid of Azerbaijan; Brooklyn Nets Forward Andrei Kirilenko; Roman Abramovich notable Russian oligarch; countless American CEO's and business moguls; as well as numerous ambassadors and diplomats.  Williamson, too, assists relief organizations with placing children from wore-torn countries such as Syria and Palestine and finding them scholarships so that these young students can lead productive lives.

John completed his graduate degree at Schiller University in Paris, France.  He currently resides in Orange County, California.

Kevin Eagan '04, Los Angeles, CA, is quoted in the November 17, 2014 edition of the Chronicle of Higher Education in an article regarding “student-centered teaching. He is Assistant Professor in Residence and Interim Director of the Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP). Article

Evon Mills Rumley '05, Mayodan, has celebrated 33 wedding anniversaries, cruised the Caribbean and taken a number of mission trips to Burma, Panama, Israel, Haiti and Georgia (Orphans and building churches) since retirement.

Jonathan Y. Hardister '06, Greensboro, won the 59th District of the NC House of Representatives seat on November 4, 2014 with 60.19% of the Republican vote.

Katherine L. Skeen '13, Summerfield, is a first grade teacher at Millis Road Elementary School in Jamestown.
