General

Jean Penny Yount 1953, Hendersonville, life at "Lake Pointe Landing" is enjoyable and busy - Jean is still singing here in the choir and continues in the Hendersonville Chorale, Book Club and P.E.O.  Try to be in touch still with several college friends.
Britt Davis Griffin 1946, Cary, and husband, Tom, relocated two years ago to Waltonwood, a senior living community in Cary.  Their two daughters, Susan and Louise, live near there, and son, Bob, lives in Kinston.
Fredda Thompson Peel 1959, Lake City, FL, is moving to Lenbrook Inspirement Community in Atlanta, GA to be closer to her daughters
Grace West Barber 1962, Daytona Beach, FL, has moved from Greensboro to Daytona Beach where she is living with her daughter, Laura.  They are both doing well.
Susan Hadley Cyr 1967, Durham, "I'm a retired school counselor enjoying a full life with my grandchildren, friends & variety of music & volunteer activities at Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church, USA, as well as the joy of serving as a deacon."
Martha Bayles Brown 1970, Carrboro, "I semi-retired in Dec. 2014 from Total Rehabilitation, a rehab company I have co-owned since 1995.  My husband, Mark Bayles, also retired 12/2014, from the Chapel Hill Public Library.  Our daughter, Hannah Bayles, a UNC-A graduate works in Human Resources at the Grove/Park Inn.”
Nancy Ford Graham 1970, Jamestown, Betsy Hood Penn 1970, Norman, OK, and Lynda Sholar 1970, Mooresville, will be traveling to Europe together following the GC Alumni Weekend.  "Let's keep on traveling GC friends!"

Mollie Wright Murphy 1974, Greensboro, retired on July 18, 2014 after 40 years and 11 days in the insurance industry.  Now she is enjoying rest, relaxation, and of course, her 5 grandchildren, ages 2 - 11 years.
Daniese Hedrick Smith 1978, Brown Summit, is the 2014 Farm Bureau Going Local Grant recipient.

Lisa B. Alley 1993, Brown Summit, helped coordinate GC alumni, faculty, and staff to volunteer for the UNC-TV fundraising event in early March.  Alumni include: Lisa 1993 (Director of Academic Support), Tica Davis Green 1994 (Director of Academic Success), Tonya Brown Gibson 1994, Marilyn Woods 1995, 2014 (Director of Student Accounts), Dr. April Alston Purnell 2003, and Kristen Crutchfield Brown 2004 (Interim Alumni Director).  Other volunteers included Dr. Bill MacReynolds (Assistant Professor and Founding Dean of School of Business), Raushan Gross (Business Instructor), Dr. Dan Malotky (Professor and Founding Dean of the School of Humanities), Dr. Becky Blomgren (Professor and Founding Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Education), Dottie Bistyga (Staff Accountant), Donna Huff (Director of Accounts Payable), Kristen's husband, Jeremy Brown, Keya Strudwick, David Crutchfield, Shannon Vickery (UNC-TV), Joy Ham, and students Aameen Goyal and Phyllis Stallworth.

Matthew M. Palmadessa 2000, Greensboro, has joined the GC Business School Advisory Council.  The council had its first meeting on March 19, 2015.

Nickolay N. Bochilo 2003, Alexandria, VA, has joined the GC Business School Advisory Council.  The council had its first meeting on March 19, 2015.

Patrick J. Moran 2003, is currently touring with the road company of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."  Patrick, who earned a BA in Theatre and a minor in Music Performance, speaks highly of the program at Greensboro College.  "At GC, I got an all-around knowledge of the business, from acting to stage management."   Internships and summer theatre engagements added to his experience and helped prepare him for the demanding life of being a professional actor.

Erick D. Naglee 2004, Greensboro, was recently featured in the News & Record as he rewarded his school's successful United Way campaign by dressing up as Olaf from Frozen.  The school raised more than $12,000.  To read more about Erik and this story, click here.  

Gabe Neeriemer 2004, Greensboro, is the President of Patriot Biodiesel, LLC which recycles waste vegetable oil, soybeans and poultry fat with the capacity of producing 7,000 gallons a day.  Gabe attended GC from 2001-03 and is now serving on the College's Business Advisory Council.  His company also provides internships for GC students.  To read more about Patriot Biodiesel, check out their site.  Gabe has also joined the GC Business School Advisory Council.  The council had its first meeting on March 19, 2015.

Kate E. Roberton 2005, Cincinnati, OH, and Alex Widolff 2007, Cleves, OH, showed their support for GC's Women's Basketball team as they played Thomas Moore University in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament.

Christopher G. Duffy 2009, New Orleans, LA, is in his third season as the boy’s lacrosse coach at Brother Martin High School in New Orleans.

Nikki Gatlin 2013, Rogers, AR, is working as a Middle School Theatre Teacher at Arkansas Arts Academy and has become a fitness coach with Beachbody.  "Middle schoolers have definitely proven to be a whirlwind of an experience, but I feel very fortunate to be a part of these formatives years for them!  It's amazing to watch them grow and learn, and in turn I am learning so much to apply to myself as a performer and teacher!  Such an amazing cycle."
