Beth Joyner Conerly '48, Sandy Ridge, NC, is moving into a retirement community near one of her sons.

Patricia Jones Lee '65, Raleigh, NC, says that “life is very full, thanks to good health, two happy children and four wonderful grandchildren, and many great activities that keep me busy and on the move all the time!"

Wendy Edens Jessen '68, Boone, NC, is profiled in the March issue of ISSUU, a publication which focuses on women and the challenges which confront them in their daily lives. See more.
Sandra Britt Schaefer '71, Herndon, VA, just celebrated 14 years with Sunrise Senior Living.  She enjoys being the Director of Sales at Sunrise George Mason in Fairfax, VA and is a proud grandmother of 5 'great' grandchildren.  When visiting Washington, DC please call or stop in.

Carol Thomas Powers '74, Atlantic Beach, NC, is owner of Beachcombers Gifts and Home Accessories in Atlantic Beach, NC.
 Jane Catherine Trolinger '74, Gilroy, CA, is a technical services specialist
for Syngenta Flowers and is celebrating her 30th anniversary this year as a plant
pathologist working for Syngenta or Syngenta legacy companies.  Here, Dr. Brian Corr, head of technical services, presents her with an Award of Appreciation marking this milestone.

 



Jane Smith '77, Burlington, NC, has for the past 25 years worked to improve the quality of life for seniors and others through programs and activities made available at Burlington Recreation and Parks. See more.

Gary S. Kenton '90, Rhinbeck, New York, is one of three candidates who will square off for two Village Board trustee seats in the March 18 election, but only one has pledged to serve the full two-year term. See more. See more. 

William "Bill" C. Chaisson '94, Stokesdale, NC, serves as the Vice President of Finance for Baptist Children's Home of North Carolina.
Rebecca Altizer Allen '02, High Point, NC, was one of 8 Henry County (VA) public school teachers recognized at the March 11, 2014 banquet honoring the county's 2013-2014 National Board Certification recipients.  Allen earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in elementary education from Greensboro College in 2003 and 2010. Kevin '01 and Amy Whitaker '02 Ward, Mooresville, NC, Becca Altizer Allen '02, High Point, NC and Erica Goldberg Shanahan '01, Greensboro, NC, celebrate a mini GC reunion with all of their children! 

 



Kathleen Gallagher Elkins '04, Madison, New Jersey, recently accepted a tenure-track faculty position at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin.  She will be Assistant Professor of Religious Studies starting Fall 2014.

Richard L. Sprecker '08, will be joining the faculty at the University of Oklahoma as their tenure-track Professor of Lighting Design.  There he will not only be continuing to expand the lighting program, but will also help to create a sound design track, and possibly develop digital design courseware for designing projections and 3D rendering.


Dudley Smith, (Teacher Licensure), Winston-Salem, NC, teaches art in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and recently won the Tony Swider Scholarship to Penlend School of Crafts. See more.

Birth

Rebecca Altizer Allen '02 and husband Darrin celebrate the birth of their son, Henry Allen born December 2013. 

Kevin '01 and Amy Whitaker '02 Ward are the proud parents of Anna Elizabeth Ward.  Anna was born February 24, 2014 at 9:05pm.  She weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces and was 20 inches long.
